<h1>Michael Anderson</h1><h2>Director</h2><p><br></p><p>Ghillar, Michael Anderson was born in Brewarrina, NSW. Michael is the leader of the Nyoongar clan and Ghurrie clan and now lives on his traditional country running a sheep and cattle station business and continues to be active as an Aboriginal land rights activist. His nation is located in the border area of southwestern Queensland and New South Wales.</p><p><br></p><p>Michael has a wealth of political knowledge and involvement in the liberation struggle of his people. As a child he spent most of his early childhood growing up under the tutelage of his grandparents in the bush.</p><p>As a youth in High School, he was a local participant protesting with Charles Perkins during His Freedom Rides through Walgett and Moree.</p><p><br></p><p>Commenced an Economic and Commerce Degree at Sydney University (deferred after two years (Incomplete).</p><p><br></p><p>Worked in the accounts/pay section of the Foundation for Aboriginal Affairs Under the Late C. Perkins.</p><p><br></p><p>After studying Law (LLB) he worked at the NSW Office of Public Prosecutions, and later taught Political Science at the Universities of New England and Newcastle. </p><p><br></p><p>On Australia Day, 1972, Michael was one of four Aboriginal activists who set up the original Aboriginal "Tent Embassy" declaring “Sovereignty Never Ceded,” “Continuing Allodial Propriety Title to all Lands” and “Never Defeated in a Declared War.” He remains active on land rights and other Indigenous issues and was involved in drafting a Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples of the World for the United Nations.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p>

<h1>Jamie-Lee Taylor</h1><h2>Director</h2><p><br></p><p>Jamie-Lee Taylor is a Yuwaalaraay and Ngarabul woman currently residing on Bundjalung Country in the Northern Rivers of NSW. Jamie-Lee has dedicated her career to caring for Country, spending over 17 years’ working across various state and federal government departments. From on the ground as a Wildlife Ranger to her current role in policy and program development in Aboriginal Outcomes for NSW Department of Planning and Environment. She is passionate about ensuring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and culture is recognised, acknowledged, valued and respected by all. She makes significant contributions to her communities and was appointed as a Director of the Yuwaalaraay Euahlayi Aboriginal Corporation in 2021.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p>

<h1>Jason Wilson</h1><h2>Director</h2><p><br></p><p>Jason Wilson is an Aboriginal man (Murri) of the Kennedy-Morgan and Peter’s families. His Grandfather’s Country language is Gomilaroi (Barwon River and North-west NSW) and his Grandmother’s Country language is Youalaroi (Narran River and North-west NSW) in the Northern Murray Darling Basin Australia.</p><p><br></p><p>The primary objective of his past and present work is to incorporate Aboriginal values into water initiatives within the Commonwealth and NSW governments. He has dedicated his life to stop the ‘intergenerational cultural, spiritual and economic genocide’ and provide equity for Aboriginal People. He has worked in Fisheries, both NSW state and federal levels.</p><p><br></p><p>He has assisted in empowering the Murray Lower Darling Rivers Indigenous Nations and Northern Basin Aboriginal Nation.</p><p><br></p><p>He currently works for the Commonwealth Environmental Water Office as a Local Engagement Officer, and enjoys chairing the Narran Lakes Joint Management Committee with Office of Environment and Heritage tackling climate change adaptation.</p><p><br></p><p>He loves sport, travel, fishing, great food, friends, also having a yarn and capacity building the broader Aboriginal community; finally he loves his Country and family.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p>

<h1>Kym Horn</h1><h2>Director</h2><p><br></p><p>Kym is a Yuwaalaraay woman residing on Turrbal Country who has spent a considerable part of her career working for and with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and communities. She has worked in First Nations affairs from community safety/emergency management/regional economic and child safety policy and issues. As a proud and loving grandmother, she has particularly dedicated her career to getting the best outcomes for our children and families. This has included significant work around both the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Child Placement Principle and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Family Led Decision Making. She was appointed as a Director of the Yuwaalaraay Euahlayi Aboriginal Corporation early in 2023.</p>

<h1>Mayrah Dreise</h1><h2>Director</h2><p><br></p><p>Mayrah is a practising visual artist focused on installation, public art and mixed media work aimed at challenging viewer understandings of the cultural aesthetic interface. The intersections between Indigenous & non-Indigenous peoples, places and objects reflect cultural paradigms and complexities worthy of challenge and interrogation. Mayrah’s exhibitions, artworks, workshops, and professional development seminars, investigate and scrutinise these complex cultural intersections.</p><p><br></p><p>As an educator Mayrah has worked across sectors, influencing State education policy on Indigenous education, Indigenous languages, and the Arts. Mayrah was the -Principal at Dirranbandi P-10 State School and Harlaxton State School and has been a lecturer for QUT and SCU, and Associate Professor Indigenous education at ACU. Mayrah prides herself on remaining grounded in her community while being able to work in government and the higher education sector.</p><p><br></p><p>She is currently the Senior Manager for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education at Brisbane Catholic Education. </p><p><br></p><p>Mayrah is a descendent of Fanny White. </p><p><br></p><p><br></p>
